McSally Agrees to an Oct. 15 Debate With Sinema in Phoenix

A competitive U.S. Senate race between Democratic Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Rep. Martha McSally is headed to at least one debate.

McSally announced Monday that she will take part in The Arizona Republic/Arizona PBS debate scheduled for Oct. 15 in Phoenix.

Sinema agreed to appear at the debate on Sept. 14 and has been waiting for McSally's decision.

The high-profile race could determine which party controls the Senate, where Republicans currently have a narrow two-vote majority.

The two women are competing for a seat vacated by Republican Jeff Flake, who retired after his criticisms of President Donald Trump's hawkish immigration stance and ethics made his re-election impossible.
