Alla: Chicano Fusion

The Mexican-American band Alla (pronounced AH-ya) is a Chicano trio whose blend of psychedelic pop and Latin rhythms propels its music to impressive heights. Now based in Chicago, the band demonstrates its talent for fusion throughout its debut album, Es Tiempo (It's Time). Written and produced over the course of four years, the disc borrows inspiration from bossa nova, Motown, and traditional Mexican harmonies to create a sound that's as flavorful as it is fun.
