Roman Candle: Backroads Charm

A darling of its local scene in Chapel Hill, N.C., Roman Candle evolved near the UNC campus in the late '90s. The band's tight, narrative lyrics, whole-hearted roots rock and invigorating dynamic turned many heads, including label heads that eventually shelved The Wee Hours Revue. That album wasn't picked up for another four years, but still lit the pages of critics' review.

Roman Candle has now released its third studio LP, Oh Tall Tree in the Ear. It has touches of lyrical dreaminess, a bit of pop and some North Carolina back roads charm.
