Greased Tracks Facilitate Brazilian Train Robbery

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. This is like a scene from an old western movie or a cartoon featuring Wile E. Coyote. Thieves in Brazil wanted to rob a train, so they greased the tracks, keeping the wheels from getting much traction. And given the current prices, that should be worth thousands of dollars. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
