The Navajo Nation enacted a shortened lockdown over the weekend to protect against the spread of coronavirus.
President Jonathan Nez says it appears most residents are following public health restrictions as new cases on the reservation continue to flatten. He also says a working group has been developing a plan to gradually reopen the Navajo Nation. The tribe Sunday reported 15 new known cases and two more deaths attributed to COVID-19. More than 9,300 people on the Navajo Nation have been infected and about three-quarters have so far recovered.
