Former Phoenix Suns superstar Steve Nash has been tapped to coach the Brooklyn Nets, even though the Basketball Hall of Famer has no coaching experience.

ESPN reports that in a team news conference today, Nash admitted he got to “skip the line” as far as coaching experience, but that his NBA playing career was a strong foundation to become a first-time head coach. The 46-year- old Nash will lead heavy-hitting players, including Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Nash played 18 seasons in the NBA, 10 of them with the Phoenix Suns. He is ranked as one of the top players in league history for his three-point shooting percentage.
