Missing Hiker Found Deceased Near Sycamore Canyon Trailhead

Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say they’ve found the body of an 85-year-old man missing since last week near the Sycamore Canyon Creek trailhead. David Williams was discovered about a third-of-a-mile downstream from the creek crossing. Authorities believe he drowned while attempting to cross to meet a friend and may have thought monsoon flood waters had begun to recede. Williams’ car had been found unattended in the area. The sheriff’s office didn’t immediately release any further details.
