Zac is a life-long Arizonan. He grew up in Tucson, and moved to Flagstaff to attend NAU. He first came to KNAU as a student worker while completing his master’s degree, and later as a reporter in Yavapai County. He left Flagstaff and headed back to Tucson to begin his career in radio, where he worked for the flagship station for University of Arizona athletics, and the local NPR and PBS affiliate. While in Tucson, Zac won two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for use of sound and breaking news coverage, as well as a Rocky Mountain Emmy for environmental reporting. When not at work, Zac enjoys getting out in the cool mountain air and spending time with his wife Ashley, daughter Anna and dog Moose. He’s an avid beer geek and basketball fan.
