Arizona Man Arrested in Stabbing Death of Wife

Coconino County Sheriff's Office

Authorities say an Arizona man has been arrested after his wife was stabbed to death.

The Coconino County Sheriff's office says its deputies responded to a domestic violence call early Thursday morning and found Cheryl L. Morgan with several stab wounds. The deputies requested medics but Morgan died at the scene of the stabbing in Doney Park, a community outside Flagstaff.

Morgan's husband 38-year-old Timothy M. Duran was arrested later in the morning after officers stopped his vehicle on the southbound 1-17 freeway. He was booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility on suspicion of first-degree homicide and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The county jail's inmate system did not indicate if Duran had an attorney.
