Arizona health officials Wednesday reported 605 new known COVID-19 infections and 44 more deaths.
New daily cases and deaths have steadily decreased since the pandemic’s January high along with hospitalizations and ICU occupancy.
Meanwhile, newly available vaccine appointments were snapped up within 20 minutes at sites run by the Department of Health Services, which has expanded eligibility to those 16 and older. Officials say demand has been softening and vaccine supply has increased in recent days.
Nearly 838,000 Arizonans have been infected by COVID since the beginning of the pandemic and more than 16,800 have died.
