Army Soldier Killed In Training Exercise In Arizona

Army.mil

The U.S. Army says a soldier was killed in a routine military freefall training event in southern Arizona Tuesday.

U.S Army Special Forces officials on Wednesday identified the soldier killed as 36-year-old Master Sgt. Nathan Goodman of Hope Mills, North Carolina.

A spokesman for the Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, says the incident happened near Eloy and that no additional information would be released while the Army conducts an investigation.

Freefalling is when parachutists jump from an aircraft and delay opening their parachutes.
