Page Mayor Criticized For Facebook Comments About Navajo Nation

Levi Tappan via facebook

The mayor of Page, Arizona is facing criticism after commenting on facebook about the Navajo Nation.

Page Mayor, Levi Tappan, replied to a facebook comment that said Navajo Nation president Jonathan Nez is fighting hard for the Navajo people during the pandemic, according to the Arizona Republic.

The Arizona Republic reported Tappan then replied to that comment saying, "I wish he would battle alcoholism as hard as COVID19," along with a photo of what appears to be a group of Native Americans standing beside a street.

Many people who saw the comment were outraged, even calling the post racist and highly stereotypical.
