Arizona Democratic Senator Kyrsten Sinema has sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture requesting millions of dollars in coronavirus relief funding to help bring food to homebound Arizonans.

Sinema asked that 50 million dollars in funding already approved by Congress be used to support the expansion of the United Way’s Ride United Program. It’s a partnership between United Way, Door Dash and other charitable organizations that help people with transportation difficulties access food and other necessities. Sinema’s letter stresses the urgency of ensuring food security as Americans struggle to make ends meet during the coronavirus pandemic.
