Tuba City Man Sentenced To Life In Child Sex Abuse Cases

A Tuba City man has been sentenced to multiple life terms in prison on four charges of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a child and five additional counts of abusive sexual contact with a child.

He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dominic W. Lanza.  According to a news release from the U.S. Justice Department, James Lee Jones, Jr. repeatedly sexually abused a minor who was under the age of 12 in the 1990s.  Authorities said in 2016, Jones repeatedly sexually abused another minor who was 12 years old.  Investigators said Jones sexually abused the victims on the Navajo Nation, where Jones and the victims are enrolled tribal members.

The investigation in the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.
