Officials at the University of Arizona say a student was shot and killed on campus over the weekend. U of A police and the Tucson Police Department are investigating the death of 20-year-old Forrest Keys as a homicide.

The University’s Chief of Police Brian Seastone said in a briefing today that the shooting took place in a campus parking garage near the McKale basketball arena around 11 p.m. Saturday.  Authorities responded to sounds of gunfire and found Keys in the parking garage with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Chief Seastone says detectives are following every lead possible and are encouraging people with any information to come forward. Forrest Keys was a sophomore majoring in communication. Police say he was walking with friends when a verbal altercation took place between Keys and the occupants of a red Cadillac. Investigators are looking at surveillance camera footage and other evidence.
