The new chief executive of Arizona Public Service Company says APS will not spend money to influence elections for the company's regulators.

The new CEO of Arizona's largest electric utility has apologized for a faulty bill calculator that was supposed to help customers find the cheapest rate plan but instead steered 10,000 of them to higher-priced options.

Utility regulators are scheduled to interrogate the new president of Arizona Public Service Wednesday as the state's largest electrical utility faces scrutiny for billing mistakes and political spending.

Arizona Public Service Company CEO has accepted an invitation to attend an Arizona Corporation Commission open meeting to address questions on its faulty online rate comparison tool after it wrongly encouraging customers to switch to more expensive plans. 

The Arizona Public Service Company is planning to refund thousands of customers who are not on the cheapest rate plan after its online comparison tool provided inaccurate calculations since February, company officials announced.
