The Arizona Department of Transportation has won an award for a bridge project on U-S 160 bridge that helped to reduce erosion on a creek at the Navajo Nation.

Arizona State University’s Metis Center for Infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering selected ADOT’s Laguna Creek Bridge improvement as one the recipients of its 2019 Sustainable Infrastructure Awards. Faculty reviewed nominations from public, private, nonprofit and academic organizations on innovative approaches that advance sustainability in infrastructure.


The Arizona Board of Regents has approved new tuition and fees at the state's public universities for the 2019-20 year, including an average 2.8 percent increase for resident undergraduate students under a new structure at Arizona State University in Phoenix.

The Arizona state legislature has to put its stamp of approval on a “Drought Contingency Plan” by tomorrow or it risks the federal government stepping in. Farms, cities, tribes, and water agencies negotiated the plan to reduce the risk of Lake Mead falling to catastrophically low levels. It outlines how water users will share Colorado River shortages, but those agreements are contentious. KNAU’s Melissa Sevigny spoke about the plan with Arizona State University water policy expert Sarah Porter.

Most in-state undergraduate students attending Arizona's three public universities won't see tuition increases in the next school year.
