U.S. Forest Service Coconino National Forest

A wildfire north of Flagstaff continues to spread. The Museum Fire was reported Sunday at 11 a.m. and it has grown to about 1,000 acres Monday morning moving across ponderosa pine forest. It's prompted authorities to call for recreation evacuations and pre-evacuations for some neighborhoods.

The Museum Fire is burning north of Flagstaff in the Dry Lake Hills on the Coconino National Forest.


Fire crews in the Prescott National Forest cleared brush along a forest road in front of a wildfire and also worked along its edges while trying to keep it away from homes.


The Yavapai County Sheriff’s office has issued a mandatory evacuation notice for the community of Pine Flat in the southern portion of the Prescott National Forest as the Cellar Fire grows.


The team overseeing firefighting efforts on the Cellar Fire will hold a community meeting tonight in Prescott Valley.
