Federal officials and the Navajo Nation are finalizing a one-year extension of an agreement to co-manage Glen Canyon National Recreation Area as they renegotiate the larger deal.

The body of a former U.S. Forest Service firefighter from Flagstaff was recovered from Lake Powell Wednesday. Dustin Olague apparently drowned in a portion of the lake in southern Utah’s Kane County. KNAU’s Ryan Heinsius reports.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has announced new efforts to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus also known as COVID-19. Glen Canyon, in coordination with the State of Utah, is closing all public boat ramps on Lake Powell to protect employee and visitor health and safety.
