Southbound Lanes of I-17 Re-open After Vehicle Fire

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the southbound lanes of Interstate-17 re-opened shortly after 9:30 Friday morning after the road was closed for more than 6 hours because of a vehicle fire.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says a vehicle fire has closed Interstate 17 southbound this morning just north of State Route 69.

ADOT officials say traffic is exiting on the Arcosanti Road on-ramp and re-entering at the Arcosanti Road on-ramp. A semi-truck hauling eggs caught fire there around three o’clock this morning and crews are working to clear the southbound lanes of I-17.
