Arizona lawmakers are expected to begin the process of repealing a 1991 law that bars HIV and AIDS instruction that "promotes a homosexual lifestyle" following the filing of a lawsuit by LGBT groups.

Women’s Marches were held in cities all over the world this weekend. It was the second gathering largely protesting the presidency of Donald Trump. In Flagstaff, more than a thousand people took to the streets to speak out on a wide variety of issues from gender and racial equality to preserving public lands. KNAU’s Ryan Heinsius reports.

The Flagstaff City Council this week agreed to hold discussions about how to increase LGBTQ equality. The decision follows a recent survey by the Human Rights Campaign that ranks local laws, polices and services. KNAU’s Ryan Heinsius reports.

Monday marks one year since a gunman killed dozens of people and wounded dozens more inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The terrorist attack targeted people from the LGBTQ community. In response to the tragedy, a spiritual counselor from Sedona has designed a first-of-its-kind LGBTQ Wellness Summit. The online program invites people from all of over the world to workshops on health, relationships and coming out. Lori Morrison spoke to KNAU’s Gillian Ferris about the project.
