Authorities in northern Arizona are investigating the death of a young man whose body has been recovered from the canyon floor below Midgley Bridge.

U.S. Forest Service and Arizona Department of Transportation officials will start to build fencing at Midgely Bridge near Sedona next week.

An Arizona State University professor found dead in Oak Creek Canyon two months ago died from multiple blunt-force injuries sustained in a fall and hypothermia may have contributed to her death.

Backyard beekeeping is a dying art in the American Southwest, in large part because of the invasion of Africanized bees. They’re more defensive than European honey bees, and that takes the charm out of the hobby. But they also have more resilient genes. So despite their nasty reputation, some beekeepers want to work with Africanized bees. That’s easier to do in northern Arizona, where cooler temperatures mean calmer bees.
