Officials on First Mesa on the Hopi reservation are recruiting volunteers to help in a second search for a man missing for more than a year.
Ambrose “Moe” Sinquah was last seen on Sept. 28, 2020 walking near his home in Keams Canyon.
First Mesa authorities say they’ve identified new leads and are planning a more organized search under the guidance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Criminal Investigation Unit and law enforcement.
A search and rescue and recovery training session will be held Wed, Nov. 17 at 1 and 6 p.m. at the First Mesa Consolidated Villages Community Building, and a search team will mobilize Thu, Nov. 18 and Fri, Nov. 19 to specified locations.
For more information on the training, call (928) 737-2670.
Sinquah is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds with dark brown eyes and hair and a visible scar on his left cheek.
