Grand Canyon National Park officials have identified the person killed in a flash flood along the Colorado River as a 29-year-old Michigan woman.

The body of Rebecca Copeland from Ann Arbor was discovered downriver after a flash flood swept through a commercial rafting group’s camp at Tatahatso near river mile 38 the night before.

Officials say a separate commercial rafting group found Copeland’s body along with an uninjured second person who had also been reported missing. Five injured people were evacuated by air from the canyon and a park spokesperson says they were “very seriously bludgeoned by debris.”
