Coconino National Forest officials have proposed an expansion of shuttle services at several of Sedona’s most popular trailheads.
Sedona residents have increasingly complained that traffic congestion and full parking lots are forcing visitors into local neighborhoods and surface streets resulting in property damage, threats to public safety and diminished quality of life for residents.
Under the proposal, the City of Sedona would operate shuttles to and from trailheads in the Dry Creek, Little Horse, Mescal, Cathedral Rock and Soldiers Pass areas and operate Thursday through Sunday beginning next March.
Forest officials are accepting public comments on the plan. They can be emailed to comments-southwestern-coconino-redrock@usda.gov or dropped off in person to the Red Rock District Office in Sedona.
