Karen Kinne-Herman

Development Associate

Karen first became involved with KNAU as one of the founding members of KNAU’s RadioActives community support group in 2004.  She brings passion for KNAU and for NPR, as well as experience in business, education, counseling, and non-profit fundraising to her work with the outstanding KNAU team.  After participating in over a dozen on-air pledge drives, she is still surprised when people around northern Arizona recognize her voice.  Karen was a “Valley girl” from the L.A. area before making the smart move to the smog-free Flagstaff community in 1988 with her husband and daughter.  In her spare time, Karen enjoys working in the family real estate business, competitive spelling with the notorious Nerdettes, traveling, exploratory art, and making community connections.
