Spoon: Getting Better with Age

The Austin indie-rock band Spoon has enjoyed a remarkable run of excellent albums in recent years: This year's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga joins a string of intricate and impeccable pop records, each of which dispenses near-perfect three-minute pop songs with brutal efficiency. It's clear that frontman Britt Daniel is a student of classic pop and rock, as he lends a sense of intelligence and timelessness to each song.
