Cheap Trick: What's 'The Latest'?

The legendary arena rockers in Cheap Trick have cemented their place as one of the most popular and influential pop bands of the past half-century. With a catalog spanning more than three decades — the group formed in 1974 — Cheap Trick continues to mix pop, punk and metal to great effect.

The band didn't take long to find mainstream success, charting early with classic songs that continue to resonate, including "Surrender" and "I Want You to Want Me." Cheap Trick has followed an unpredictable commercial path ever since, even experiencing a chart-topping comeback in the mid-'80s. The band's original lineup — which is currently touring with Poison and Def Leppard — just released its newest album, aptly titled The Latest, which is full of the requisite catchy hooks and blistering guitar riffs.
