France's Minister For European Affairs Names Her Cat Brexit

RACHEL MARTIN, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Rachel Martin. The U.K.'s pending divorce from the EU has been excruciating, and everyone involved is in need of some comic relief, including France's Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau. After yet another narrow and indecisive vote in the British Parliament last week, Loiseau decided to name her cat Brexit. She said, quote, "he wakes me up every morning meowing to death because he wants to go out. And then when I open the door, he stays put undecided and glares at me when I put him out." It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
