A Toronto Blue Jays fan got an unexpected souvenir after attending a game

(SOUNDBITE OF MUSIC)

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. A Toronto Blue Jays fan got a souvenir at a game over the weekend, though not the kind she might expect. A foul ball came her way. Here it comes; here it comes - it smacked her in the face at 110 miles per hour. She got a black eye and a bump on the head and didn't even get the ball, but Liz McGuire stayed at the game, and the Topps baseball card company made 110 copies of a card showing her injured face. On the whole, she loved it - quote, "this rules." It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
