Adult Geology Field Trip: Tonto Natural Bridge State Park

Adult Geology Field Trip: Tonto Natural Bridge State Park

Geologists Linda Stromquist and Greg Horner and Highlands Center Naturalist Steve Van Slyke will guide a trip to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. Tonto Natural Bridge is the world's largest travertine bridge and was created by an extraordinary combination of volcanism, sedimentation, erosion, and chemical reactions. Explore the geologic wonders of our area through this expert-led outing.
Come prepared for the elements and bring lunch, water, and any other nourishment along with you. Sunscreen, a hat, and layers are recommended, as are comfortable walking shoes. Please plan to arrive at the parking lot of Tonto Natural Bridge State Park (Nf-583A, Pine, AZ 85544) to meet the group no later than 9:45 am. Transportation is not provided; carpooling is encouraged.
