An Evening with Nancy Turner

An Evening with Nancy Turner

"Join bestselling author Nancy Turner (These Is My Words) as she take us behind the scenes of her writing process, sharing how she approaches the daunting task of creating a full-length novel, how dialogue can drive plot and character development, and her insights on writing about real people while steering clear of legal trouble. The event will conclude with an open Q&A session.

Nancy Turner grew up in Southern California in the shadow of Disneyland's Matterhorn, and believed in all things magical as a child. She started writing after returning to college to pursue a degree at the age of forty. She graduated from Pima Community College and the University of Arizona between her two children, one in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Her love of history and a few names in the family genealogy inspired the process of writing novels. Since there wasn't enough factual information to fill out a family tree, she created characters bearing the names of ancestors, building a setting for the stories around historic facts."
