'Blue Velvet' Film Encore

'Blue Velvet' Film Encore

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present “Blue Velvet” showing June 13, 18 and 19 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

“Blue Velvet” is the third film in a series honoring the work of legendary director David Lynch, who earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Director for this film.

“Blue Velvet” features an award-winning ensemble cast, including Isabella Rossellini, Kyle MacLachlan, Dennis Hopper, Laura Dern, Dean Stockwell and Hope Lange.

The discovery of a severed human ear found in a field leads a young man on an investigation related to a beautiful, mysterious nightclub singer and a group of psychopathic criminals who have kidnapped her child.

College student Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle MacLachlan) returns home after his father has a stroke. When he discovers a severed ear in an abandoned field, Beaumont teams up with detective's daughter Sandy Williams (Laura Dern) to solve the mystery. They believe beautiful lounge singer Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini) may be connected with the case, and Beaumont finds himself becoming drawn into her dark, twisted world, where he encounters sexually depraved psychopath Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper).

“Blue Velvet” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Friday, June 13 at 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday, June 18 and 19 at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
