No one wants to become insignificant, or worse- to disappear. But that’s what’s happening to Alicia. Though she’s at the forefront of her industry as an entomologist, studying insects in the field, her age is catching up with her in a young person's game. After turning 40 and incurring a series of injuries, she’s pressured to work harder than ever to keep from becoming irrelevant. When murder hornets invade the United States, Alicia gathers her friend and old co-worker Eden, and young graduate student, Lizzie, to hunt the hornets and protect her career. As she finds bees that have perished, her increasing anxiety keeps her from saving them and is causing her to vanish as well. Mixing science, dreams, and magical realism, BUZZ explores the pressures on women, scarcity mindset, and the struggle to hold on to your dreams.
