Easton Collection Center Open House

Easton Collection Center Open House

Learn about the Museum of Northern Arizona’s collection of more than 800,000 artifacts at the Platinum LEED certified, architectural masterpiece Easton Collection Center. Selected areas of the collection will be available for viewing and discussion with MNA collection staff. Textiles from the collection will be brought out for viewing, including the Staples rug, which is the earliest known and certainly the oldest surviving two-faced Navajo rug in existence. Given that it is also one of the largest rugs ever woven, the Staples rug is truly a Southwestern textile treasure. Produced between 1885 – 1890, the Staples rug is today part of the Navajo textile collection at the Museum of Northern Arizona.

The discussion will be held at MNA’s Research Center and is located on the opposite side of Highway 180/N Fort Valley Road from the museum. To reach the Research Center, turn right off of Highway 180 opposite the museum at the Harold S. Colton Research Center sign.
