'Escape Fire' Film Screening

'Escape Fire' Film Screening
The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the “Healthcare vs. Healing” film series at the Mary Fisher Theatre, kicking off on Monday, Oct. 13 with a special screening of “Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare” at 4:00 p.m.
Good health drives our quality of life, and we look to Western healthcare systems to support our wellness goals. The “Healthcare vs. Healing” film series explores the amazing discoveries, the challenges of our healthcare system, the promise of medical technologies and the ancient and intriguing alternatives to modern healthcare.
“Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare” examines one of the most pressing issues in the nation today. What can be done to fix our broken healthcare programs in the United States?
Filmmakers Susan Froemke and Matthew Heineman use personal stories and expert analysis to diagnose serious problems in the U.S. healthcare system. The film examines the powerful forces trying to maintain the status quo in a medical industry designed for quick fixes rather than prevention, for profit-driven care rather than patient-driven care.
“Escape Fire” follows dramatic human stories as well as leaders fighting to transform healthcare at the highest levels of medicine, industry, government, and even the US military. The film is about a way out, about saving the health of a nation.
“Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday, Oct. 13 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona.
