The Flagstaff Music Festival has celebrated the local music scene since 2003. FMF aims to promote Flagstaff music within and beyond the community. A primary FMF goal is to create and support the idea of Flagstaff as a musical destination. Like Austin and Telluride, Flagstaff is well-positioned to attract visitors who come for both the music and the location. FMF has done this through an annual music festival on Heritage Square featuring local bands.
