Guided Nature Walks at Hart Prairie

Guided Nature Walks at Hart Prairie

Join us for guided nature walks at Hart Prairie Preserve this summer in Northern Arizona. The walks will take place on Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning at the barn in the northernmost parking lot.

Learn about the natural and human history of the Flagstaff area, including its geology and the formation of the San Francisco Peaks, Aspen ecology, Bebb willows and TNC’s ongoing conservation work at the preserve. Hikers of all levels are welcome, but be prepared for the 2-mile walk on uneven terrain.

The walks are free and open to the public, but space is limited; registration is required. Sign up here or below before attending. Note: This is a guided walk limited to the nature trail, and members of the public will not have access to the historic buildings in the preserve.

Please bring sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, plenty of water and binoculars, if desired. During monsoon season, in late July through August, be prepared for rain and bring the necessary equipment for inclement weather. When navigating, follow the Google Maps directions to "Hart Prairie Preserve" (there is no street address) and look for the front gate with a TNC logo on it.
