Mid-August is an ideal time to take in the stunning scenery and pleasant temperatures in Flagstaff, and Dark Sky Brewing Co. is adding one more reason to make a visit: the inaugural Dark Sky Music and Art Festival. The free two-day event (for guests 21 and older) will include nonstop live music and an art market featuring dozens of local artisans, as well as mouthwatering magic from Atmosphere Kitchen, and, of course, plenty of cold beer on tap.

The event will also be the first opportunity for craft beer aficionados to sample a pint of the newly released "Drafted Downtown," a collab with Downtown Flagstaff in honor of National Nonprofit Day. A portion of proceeds from sales throughout the weekend will benefit Downtown Flagstaff's work to preserve and promote Historic Downtown Flagstaff. "Drafted Downtown" is an old-school West Coast IPA hopped with Citra; enjoy it on draft in both DSB taprooms, along with select local bars around town, and in cans to-go!

With hours of entertainment planned each day, there's no better place to vibe on a summer afternoon or evening in Arizona's high country than the Dark Sky Beer Garden. Scheduled performers include Pilcrow, Sleep Stampede, DJ Quick Kay, Amigo Diablo, Crooked Numbers, Lost in the Sun, WTBI, Betty Benedeadly, Sun Elk, Futurist and more.

Guests can also peruse the handiwork of local artisans, including Wicked Warthog Candles, Okey Dokey Co., Rachel Richardson Jewlery, Ghost Wax Records, Awkward Dino Creations, and more.

If that's not enough enticement, the annual Flagstaff International Film Festival is also taking place on Aug. 16-17, and Dary Sky Brewing is just a 2- to 5-minute walk from the Opheum and Theatrikos Theatre where films will be screened.

The event is free but seating is available on a first-come basis. Arrive early to grab a spot and start soaking up the rhythmic sounds and plentiful sunshine on the patio while enjoying an abundant selection of beers on tap.
