SMOKEY BEAR’S 80TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT BEARIZONA
SATURDAY, AUG. 17: THE ARIZONA OFFICE OF TOURISM AND BEARIZONA INVITE YOU TO JOIN SMOKEY BEAR’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, FEATURING FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION THROUGH WORKSHOPS, GAMES AND EXPERT SPEAKERS

WHO: Smokey Bear, U.S. Forest Service Hotshot Crew, park rangers, local firefighters and community members.

WHAT: Celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday in Williams, Arizona at Bearizona. As the iconic face of the Wildfire Prevention Campaign, Smokey Bear will use this milestone celebration to not only enjoy cake but educate the community about fire safety through engaging workshops, fun games, insightful speakers.

WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, from 10 a.m., to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Bearizona Wildlife Park

VISUALS: The first 250 guests will receive Smokey Bear swag bags. Fire safety education pamphlets will be handed to attendees throughout the day.

WHY: This year, wildfires have already burned 200,000 acres across Arizona. While the worst wildfires typically occur in summer, Arizona now faces this threat year-round. Therefore, public awareness and education on fire safety is essential for protecting our communities and natural resources. This event will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to wildfires. By celebrating Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday, we highlight the importance of wildfire prevention and promote a united effort to protect Arizona’s natural beauty.
