NACA Receives AAAHC Accreditation

Native Americans for Community Action, Inc. receives AAAHC Accreditation, solidifying NACA status as a leading organization dedicated to advancing healthcare quality in ambulatory settings.

PRESS RELEASE

Jan. 15, 2025, FLAGSTAFF, AZ – During the 2024 year, Native Americans for Community Action, Inc. (NACA) underwent the AAAHC Accreditation survey, and in 2025, received AAAHCS Certification. The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting quality improvement and patient safety in ambulatory healthcare settings. AAAHC accreditation signifies that a facility has undergone a rigorous evaluation process, including an on-site survey conducted by experienced healthcare professionals. Receiving this accreditation proves a comprehensive commitment to excellence far beyond regulatory compliance.

AAAHC evaluation observes a facility’s patient safety, quality of care, regulatory compliance, staff qualifications, infection prevention and control, governance, competitive advantage, staff morale, and access to resources. For patients, AAAHC Accreditation is an indicator of excellent quality and safety. Patients can trust that they will get quality care in a safe environment.

Since 1991 NACA has offered a variety of health and human services to urban Native Americans, low-income, and other underserved families, as well as those who experience health and socio-economic disparities at rates disproportionate to the general population. NACA focuses on holistic and family care and prioritizes the overall wellbeing of patients by honoring their customs, culture, and beliefs. The NACA Family Health Clinic provides services such as physicals, immunizations and vaccinations, screenings, pediatric care, family planning, acute & chronic illness care, and more. Additionally, NACA hosts a Mammogram and Cervical Cancer Screening event every year, so patients can have quick and easy access to needed services.

Other services NACA provides include behavioral health services, substance use prevention services, health education programs, and various community development programs. The mission of Native Americans for Community Action, Inc. is to provide preventive wellness strategies, empower, and advocate for Native people and others in need to create a healthy community based on Harmony, Respect, and Indigenous values.

In Arizona, NACA is the only Urban Indian Organization facility to receive AAAHC accreditation. An Urban Indian Organization is a nonprofit corporate body situated in an urban center to establish and administer an urban Indian health program and related activities.
