Prescott Writers: The Art of Memoir Writing

In this presentation, explore the essential craft elements that transform personal memories into compelling stories. Participants will learn how to shape authentic dialogue, build vivid scenes, and use concrete detail and metaphor to reveal deeper truths. Joann Ashlock has a BA degree in English from Washington State University, a Masters in Education from the University of Miami, and a Masters of Arts in English Literature from Gonzaga University. Joann has taught Memoir Writing in the Olli Program at Yavapai College since 2018 and was awarded Master Facilitator in 2024.
