Join Dr. Ben Phillips of ASU Philosophy for a discussion entitled “Resolving the Paradox of Dehumanization: The Multiple Concepts Approach,” Thursday, October 24 at 3:45 PM in Liberal Arts Room 111A. Dr. Phillips has written multiple recent papers on the subject of dehumanization, including Normative Dehumanization and The Ordinary Concept of a True Human and “They’re Not True Humans”: Beliefs About Moral Character Drive Denials of Humanity. and is currently interested in the philosophy and psychology of dehumanization; and the relation between consciousness and selfhood. Come exercise your own humanity with this interactive lecture and discussion. This is the second event in the Philosophy Department Colloquium Series brought to you by the Richard Wood Fund.
