Riordan Mansion Lunchtime Lecture: The Grand Canyon: Past and Present
Riordan Mansion Lunchtime Lecture: The Grand Canyon: Past and Present
As part of his duties as Grand Canyon Astronomer in Residence in May 2023, Kevin Schindler of Lowell Observatory rephotographed areas in the Grand Canyon where Apollo astronauts trained in the 1960s. This repeat photography project expanded and grew into a book documenting how the Canyon and its natural and human-made features have changed – and in some cases remained startlingly the same – over the past century plus. Schindler will share many of these repeat images and also talk about some of the challenges of repeat photography.
Space is limited. Reserve your spot online at https://azstateparks.com/reserve/Activities/Search.aspx or call 928-779-4395 for additional information and same day availability. The presentation will be free thanks to Riordan Action Network.
