On Nov. 13, World Kindness Day — also proclaimed as Sedona Kindness Day — SedonaKind invites you to the Sedona Film Festival Theatres to enjoy wonderful short films that reflect and resonate with their mission: encouraging acts of kindness, large and small, locally and around the world.
These award-winning short films represent some of the best films shown at the Sedona International Film Festival. They cover a diverse, fascinating and fun spectrum of subjects, including:
Belief: Alongside his wife and daughter, Lennox joyously unpacks their new home but is left speechless when he finds a letter in a moving box labelled ‘mom’ that predestines a different life for him – it’s not as he remembers.
Confessions: After the death of a friend, two nuns in their golden years contemplate what their future holds. One confession leads to another and before they know it, they’re embarking on an adventure.
No Time Off for Good Behavior: On the way a young mother will be sent away; she must entrust her infant daughter into the care of her own disappointed and disapproving mother. Both women struggle to find some small measure of connection at this terrible moment of forced parting.
I’m Sending Help Now: A recent retiree can’t remember the safe word after accidentally setting off his home security alarm.
Where No One Lives: On one night, three lonely next-door neighbors find themselves in search of connection, forgiveness, and company in an old apartment building.
The Book of Ruth: Margo, Dan, Jordan and Lizzy visit grandmother Ruth for Passover. Later that night, Lizzy finds Ruth watching a midnight news story about Anne Frank’s death. Lizzy then confesses to have known a related secret for years and Ruth is left with some explaining to do.
Dadu: A stubborn old man goes on a desperate journey to find the lively women he met in a neighborhood park.
Dead Cat: What were Catherine and Louis thinking when they chose a cat with distinctive white spots? It would have been much easier to replace if they had picked the all-black one! Now they will have to tell their daughter that Nugget is dead. Unless….
