'Sunset Boulevard' 75th Anniversary

'Sunset Boulevard' 75th Anniversary
The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to join theaters around the world for a global classic film encore event: “Sunset Boulevard” on Sunday and Monday, Aug. 3 and 4 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Iconic, darkly comedic, and thrilling, the three-time Oscar-winning “Sunset Boulevard” returns to the big screen for its 75th anniversary. The film — directed by Billy Wilder — stars Gloria Swanson, William Holden and Erich von Stroheim.
Fame isn’t forever — just ask Norma Desmond. Once a Hollywood legend, now a forgotten relic, she refuses to fade away. When struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis stumbles into her decaying mansion, he becomes trapped in her web of obsession, control, and delusion. What starts as an opportunity soon spirals into something far more dangerous.
Dark, twisted, and eerily relevant, “Sunset Boulevard” is a haunting look at Hollywood’s unrelenting cycle — where youth is currency, talent is fleeting, and no one stays in the spotlight forever. Are you ready for your close-up?
This Fathom’s Big Screen Classics release includes exclusive insights from Leonard Maltin.
“Sunset Boulevard” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 4:00 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 4 at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12 general admission, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
