'Tuesday' Film Screening

'Tuesday' Film Screening

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present “Tuesday” — the final film in a four-week ‘Heartful Living, Gentle Dying’ film series — on Thursday, May 29 at 4:00 at the Mary Fisher Theatre, followed by a panel discussion.

Join us for this thought-provoking journey and discover what it means to be alive and connected to humanity, and how we might die with grace and dignity on our own terms. This profound glimpse into life and death explores how we view our purpose, our relationships, and the possibilities inherent in the gentle dying process.

In “Tuesday”, a mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus, in a profoundly moving performance) and her terminally ill teenage daughter (Lola Petticrew) must confront Death when it arrives in the form of an astonishing talking bird. Now, the end is near. As mortal Zora tries to reason with the unfathomable force, begging for extra time, the pained mother must confront the abrupt finality of death and an unfair truth: tomorrow was never ours to keep.

From debut filmmaker Daina O. Pusić, “Tuesday” is a heart-rending fairy tale about the echoes of loss and finding resilience in the unexpected.

This special screening will be followed by a panel discussion with an estate planning/advanced care planning expert, a hospice/caregiving representative and an end-of-life and grief support doula to encourage discussion and question and educate the public on recommended steps for planning and on available services and how these services can complement one another.

The “Heartful Living, Gentle Dying” film series is co-sponsored by Accord Hospice and Palliative Care and Arizona Elder Care & Senior Support.

“Tuesday” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Thursday, May 29 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona.
