Verde Valley Fiber and Glass Artisans' Sale
Verde Valley Fiber and Glass Artisans' Sale
The Verde Valley Fiber Artisans will host their Annual Sale on Saturday, November 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Church of the Red Rocks, 54 Bowstring Drive, Sedona. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
Founded in 1973, the Guild promotes education and appreciation of fiber arts including loom, basket and tapestry weaving, spinning, knitting, crochet, dyeing, felting and beadwork. More than 45 Guild members—many of them award winning—will offer wearable art, home décor, gifts, and holiday ornaments for purchase.
Available work will range from small gifts to museum quality fashion pieces, with many items incorporating upcycled textiles. The sale will also include locally sourced roving and hand spun yarn from an alpaca/llama farm, as well as pieces woven by residents of Rainbow Acres, reflecting the Guild’s long standing community partnership.
A large donation of yarns, rovings and fiber art supplies—gifted to the Guild by the husband of a former member—will be sold at 20% of retail value via cash or check. All other sale items may be purchased by credit card, cash, or check.
A special feature of this year’s event will be the inclusion of local guest glass artists whose work will also be available for purchase. In addition, More than Self, a 501(c)(3) non profit supporting women weavers in Guatemala, will offer handcrafted textiles and gifts with proceeds returning to Guatemalan communities.
Live artist demonstrations will take place throughout the day, and free parking is available on site.
