'Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music' Special Screening

'Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music' Special Screening

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the encore of “Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music” for one day only — Monday, Aug. 19 at 2 and 7 p.m. — at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.

This special encore of “Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music” celebrates the 55th anniversary of a concert that defined a generation and changed the world — featuring a special director's cut of the original film.

For three remarkable days of mud and happiness in 1969, over half a million people came together on a small farm in upstate New York to celebrate live, love and music--Woodstock. One camera crew was there, in the middle of everything, recording the live performances of many of the greatest singers and musicians of the era, and the joy, peace and rock 'n' roll experienced by hundreds of thousands.

“Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music” features iconic performances by Joan Baez, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, The Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Santana, John Sebastian, Sly & the Family Stone, Ten Years After and The Who.

In this special director’s cut, director Michael Wadleigh — who made the original movie back in the sixties — talks about those days and shows "never before seen" performance footage.

“Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Monday, Aug. 19 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $12, or $9 for Film Festival members. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
