Why's It Taking So Long to Know the Winner?

The election campaigns are over, candidates have declared victory, and the lawn signs should be coming down soon.

But in many political races across the state, the outcome of the balloting is not known for certain.

Arizona election officials still have about 600 thousand votes yet to count.

Matthew Roberts, the spokesman for the Arizona Secretary of States office, described the situation.
